The Studio Cote d’Azur is the vision of Bianca Ljungberg — a contemporary Pilates teacher and lifelong student of the mind-body approach to well being.

Studio Founder Bianca Ljungberg grew her business from humble beginnings when she started teaching Pilates from her garage in Cape Town, South Africa in 2014.

Later that year, Bianca took her teaching on board where she worked in her third season as a super yacht crew member and freelance Pilates teacher. Bianca’s experience on yachts sized 25-68 meters in the Mediterranean and on the coast of East Africa brought her in contact with a world of luxury and established her deep-rooted passion for high-end hospitality and service.

In early 2015, Bianca moved full-time into teaching with her business ‘CREW Pilates’, opening her first studio in old-town Antibes, with a refurbished, secondhand reformer and ladder barrel.

Bianca quickly established a reputation for her professionalism, passion, and deeper approach to Pilates and the human body. The studio client base steadily grew as more and more people came to enjoy the overwhelmingly positive effects of Pilates and movement. Her signature outdoor sessions are still a feature of the business, celebrating the stunning natural scenery of the French Riviera.

After two years of searching for the right location, Bianca and her husband Arvid came across what is now The Studio Côte d’Azur — an inviting and warm space previously home to a French, Buddhist doctor who lived there for 34 years. They converted the apartment into a specialist Pilates and well-being studio and opened in July 2017 and that is how our story started.

Today, The Studio Côte d’Azur welcomes clients from all over the world including the UK, America, Germany, Ukraine, Scandinavia, and the UAE. We love what we do and we simply can’t wait to share it with you too.

Bianca continues to recognize the importance of working holistically, looking at the same problem from different lenses; and understanding what works for one client might not work for another. She has carefully selected her fellow practitioners for their skills, compassion, and ability to ‘think out of the box’ when it comes to dis-ease and health. Bianca is also deeply connected with the Antibes community and regularly refers clients to local doctors, osteopaths, and therapists for additional support.

In 2023, Bianca and her husband Arvid combined forces and went into business together, expanding The Studio concept and opening in Scandinavia in 2023 with The Studio of Sweden. Their intention and dreams are to expand and develop a sustainable Pilates business internationally.
