More About Shona
Bespoke massage therapist and bodyworker drawing on over 20 years of experience, Shona works with clients who are seeking more than just a massage. The experience is multidimensional and profound, aiming to create shifts and healing in individuals who are suffering pain both physically, mentally, and emotionally or looking for outstanding performance and meaning in life.
Shona facilitates a space of transformation using an array of tools. Her objective is to lead you to ‘still point’. This is a rarely accessed state of consciousness suspended between sleep and wakefulness where you experience a whole-body connection in the present moment. It is a deeply healing state where your body’s inherent capacity to autoregulate, balance and transform is activated. Regularly accessing this state changes your life perspective, and makes you feel more connected, happier, and fulfilled. Massage is a fantastic tool to maintain optimal health and well-being.
Shona spent her childhood living in different countries in Asia and went to a progressive experimental boarding school in the UK as a teenager. She graduated from the university in 1987 with a Philosophy and African and Asian Studies degree. Voyaging and adventure are in her blood: a year onboard the QE2 cruising around the world; a year backpacking and hitchhiking through North Africa; a ride hitched onboard a sailboat heading for the Caribbean; a meeting with her lifelong partner and a passion for the sea.
A stay in San Diego allowed her to develop her passion for the human body at Massage School. The dots continued to join. A family. A house. Friends. Roots. Today in the south of France she continues to voyage and study. The human body, mind, and spirit have become her daily travel ground.
